Solid Foundation for Growth
In Amsterdam in 1950 the Asoma Group of companies began trading petrochemicals under
the name Oxyde. Thirty-five years later, the company was acquired by the Groupe Financiere
de Suez who changed the name to Oxyde Chemicals B.V. Later that same year they opened
an office in the US, and two years after that began conducting business under the name
Oxyde Chemicals, Inc. In 1993 Oxyde Chemicals became a founding member of the newly
formed Petroplus Group. In a management buyout six years later Oxyde Chemicals, Inc.
purchased 75% ownership of the firm. Petroplus, through its subsidiary Oxyde Chemicals
B.V., owned the remaining 25%. During 2006, The Noble Group acquired Oxyde Chemicals
B.V., allowing Oxyde Chemicals, Inc. to separate. We are now 100% owned by current
management and actively expanding our global presence.
Oxyde Chemicals, Inc. has a long history of trading and distributing chemicals and plastics in
North America, Asia, India, Turkey and throughout Latin America. Plans to expand in Europe
and the Middle East are well under way.
In addition to regular trading, Oxyde Chemicals, Inc. has a growing distribution network of
select products in the United States, Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela. Distribution of plastics
and chemicals in Turkey is poised to grow rapidly.
Oxyde facilitates long-term contracts with producers and consumers to guarantee regular
off-take and supply with our partners. Oxyde constantly seeks joint venture business with
reliable partners to expand our ability to provide products worldwide.
